Hello and welcome to our website. I hope that you find all of the information that you need to keep you informed about what’s happening at Harleton ISD. Our goal is to provide you with a user-friendly format that will allow you to stay in touch with the things that are affecting your children and community. We are very proud of our students and our school, and I sincerely hope that you will share in that pride with us.
I am Dr. Craig Coleman, and I have been serving as superintendent of schools for Harleton ISD since June 2007. I arrived at Harleton after serving for three years as a professor of Educational Leadership at Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, TX. Before joining the faculty at SFASU, I served as principal in the Westwood ISD in Palestine, TX. I was raised just down the road while attending Longview ISD from kindergarten through grade 8, and I graduated from Gilmer High School. In a sense, I have come home.
This is a family affair for me because my wife, Christi, is a teacher here at our elementary school, and my two children, Campbell and Carliece, are in the 6th and 4th grades at Harleton respectively. I have a personal stake in the success of our district, and I promise to work with the quality people here at Harleton as we strive for continuous improvement for the success of our children.
Once again, I hope you find our website useful and informative. If there is ever anything that I can do for you, I invite you to contact me. My door is open. It takes all of us working together to ensure that our school system is the very best it can be. I can be reached at the following e-mail address - colemancraig@harletonisd.net.
