HISD Latest School Closure Info March 30

School Closure Update:

As of today, the TEA Commissioner stated that we would hear from the Texas Governor soon about school closures, but he did not say when.

Therefore, as of today, the Harleton ISD will be closed through April 17, 2020. We may hear from the Governor about an extended closure in the coming days that may change our plans, but we wanted to give you as much time as possible, in the case that you needed to find care for children, etc.

We will also be offering food service and instruction through April 17th. We are so thankful to our food service staff and those that are delivering food on Mondays and Wednesdays.

Stay tuned for further information to be coming about how we are going to try and help guide our kids through instruction during this school closure. We are all wanting our kids back as soon as possible and for life to begin to return to normal for everyone.

We encourage each of our students to stay abreast with the educational resources that we have made available, to the maximum extent possible. We know that this is difficult to do during this time of closure.

Please don't hesitate to reach out to our campuses on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:00 to noon, if you need anything.

Starting this week, our teachers will begin to make phone calls home to each child, at least 2 times a week. Thank you for remaining patient with us during this time.

And remember, it's a great day to be alive and great day to be a Wildcat!

Go Wildcats!
